Nimmanhaemin, hip street of Chiang Mai
Nimmanhaemin Rd, Nimman is Chiang Mai's chicest neighbourhood. Since the mid-00s the kilometer-long route between Huay Kaew and Suthep has attracted trendy java shops, natty boutiques, hot and cool night spots and some of the city's about mod apartments. If you desire to be seen – or desire to ticker people who desire to be seen – this is believably the office for you.
Night Life Recommend
The Rascal Society – where it all started! Originally a little bar, this is immediately a hip venue with live music, sushi and terribly cool tiddlers in a chilled water, steel and glass setting.
Warm Up – supposedly the hottest office in town. The crowds here chill out to funk and jazz in the outdoor area, while inside the beats continue a trendy bunch on their feet. Sushi bar and a total restaurant, as substantially as anything you may think of to drink.
Shopping Recommend
Nimman Promenade – a match of alleys lined with little boutiques selling mickle of unusual and eye-catching object from art and antiques to style and jewellery. Right next to Wawee on the west side of the street.
Soi 1 – this soi next to Rincome hotel is lined with stores featuring the best of Chiang Mai's hand-made furniture, arts and crafts.
Kasem Shop – Not the original location, but perhaps the about accessible. Kasem Shop has been purveying fine foodstuffs, both local and imported, to Chiang Mai for decades. The Nimman leg carries all the usuals.
Gerard Collection – showroom for a local exporter of finely-made and distinctive bamboo furniture. Elegant, mod designs, durable and sustainable too.
