Since two years I ain the Canon EOS-1, which I bought for my book (available on Amazon – nudge, nudge, wink, wink) inquiry trips. You will discover my EOS-1 brushup on Amazon too. With the Rebel XTi (or 400D in the rest of the world) there is straightaway a high quality camera with the same resolution at the tenth of the price. I bought the XTi on Amazon and have used it directly for some time. I bought a Sigma DC 18-200mm zoom-lens, which is alike a 27-300mm because of the smaller CCD than the EOS-1. I could highly recommend the Sigma lens because it makes the XTi an amazingly small, light simply complete package that I Canon Digital Rebel XTi SLR Camera carry around in my rucksack, which I could never do with my EOS-1.The pic quality and simplicity of use it utterly amazing! In daily weather I cannot see a difference between the EOS-1 (which was $9000 when I bought it two years ago) and the XTi. The software is much easier to usage and the camera works really well in fully automatic. The in-built flash is very good and battery liveliness is excellent, given the little battery. I will situation a few images I shot with it. I did virtually no editing on those except clipping to construct them smaller. I did also buy the Canon EF 10-22mm because I motive a destiny of wide-angle and I will review that seperately. It is a corking lens to pass with the XTi. Does that make the EOS-1 obsolete? No. Largely because it has the high quality AF lenses and a total size CCD for much meliorate colour quality and sensitivity. There is straightaway a EOS-1 Mark2 and I will have to consider about upgrading to the succeeding example a twelvemonth down the line. Sigh!
